Vitamin D-3 (Cholecalciferol)
Type: Vitamin
Vitamin D-3 is a fat-soluble vitamin that is essential for the maximum absorption of calcium, thus helping to maintain strong bones and teeth, even as you age. Vitamin D-3 also contribute to immune system function, helping to regulate immune responses and defend against infections. The recommended daily intake of Vitamin D-3 is 400IU - 800IU, even when you are exposed to sunlight.
Being fat-soluble, Vitamin D-3 can be stored in our bodies for future use. It can also be naturally produced when our skin is directly exposed to sunlight. However, many still suffer from a lack of Vitamin D-3 due to the avoidance of the sun, overuse of sunscreen which block sunlight absorption, and its scarcity in food. Therefore, it is important to ensure sufficient intake of Vitamin D-3 through supplements.
