MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane)
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is a sulphur-containing compound that can be found naturally in green plants, animals and human. As sulphur is necessary for various crucial bodily functions, MSM is known to bring many health benefits.
MSM has been well-studied for its anti-inflammatory property thus it is often used to manage joint discomforts, alleviate symptoms of arthritis (e.g. joint pain or stiffness), improve motion and physical function, and relieve muscle soreness and oxidative stress associated with vigorous exercise.
Some studies have also suggested that MSM is useful in managing seasonal allergy symptoms (e.g. sneezing, runny nose, itching) and boosting immune health.
Common food sources that are rich in MSM include garlic, onion, cow milk, tomatoes, corn and alfalfa.
