Red clover is a rich source of isoflavones, a type of phytoestrogen that posses similar chemical structure with female hormone estrogen. The level of estrogen declines with menopause, hence red clover is believed to have benefits for menopausal symptoms, such as hot flushes, night sweats, bone density loss, and high blood cholesterol.
