Horny Goat Weed
Latin name: Epimedium grandiflorum
Type: Herb
Horny Goat Weed is a Traditional Chinese Medicinal (TCM) herb used to improve sexual health by tonifying the kidneys. Its name originated when a goat herder found his goats became more sexually stimulated after eating the plant.
It is found that Horny Goat Weed contains an active ingredient - icariin; a flavonoid antioxidant. Some research suggests that icariin has the potential in increasing testosterone levels and blood flow.
Sexual difficulties, such as poor performance due to low energy level and/or lack of desire, inability to achieve or maintain erection, may affect individuals of any age. Although more common amongst those over their 40's, it is often related to a decline in health associated with ageing or a medical condition.
